The warm up race for the IFMAR World Championships in October 2013 is over and the winner is Shimo with his newly signed Mrx-5 WC Spec. This is not a real surprise as Kei-Tune Raceway is a track which Shimo knows very well and has had many victories in the past. It is however interesting to see him adapt quickly to his new car. Below are a set of photos from the race.
Winner and his beautiful O.S. Speed powered MRX-5 WC Spec.

Masami on duty as referee. The fact that he did not compete does not cancel the speculation that he will compete in the Worlds in October 2013. The same goes for Atsushi Hara and his team.
And now some video action:
Race start procedure:
Focus on winner Shimo. Just incredibly smooth, quick and consistent.
Every year KYOSHO organize their annual GrandPrix race at the BossSpeed race track in Japan. As far as I know this track will be the host club for the 2013 IFMAR 1/8 Onroad World Championships. Here are 2 videos showing in sequence the 20 minute main final in the 1/8th scale class.
and here is an older clip from the driver's stand showing the demanding layout of this technical track:
Not much info is available at the moment and it doesn't look like it is going to get any better as redrc.net could not attend to cover this meeting. Still some sites are already posting some news and some more should do shortly. http://www.nitro-west.de/ http://www.lmcc.lu/ http://www.rc-world.gr/ (it's in Greek and has reports) http://www.facebook.com/ through the profiles of some of the participants (for example Asia Racing Team) timing: http://www.myrcm.ch/http://www.efra.ws/

Lamberto Collari checking on his car, which looks like an MRX-4 based prototype which was first seen during free practice at the IFMAR WC in Miamin. Eventually at that race he used a Kyosho Evolva prototype with aluminum parts.
and a short clip of Robert Pietsch (Mugen MRX-5/ Novarossi) and Dario Balestri (Capricorn LAB C-801/ Novarossi) flying through free practice. Video was posted on facebook from ART (Asia Racing Team)
